This is a quote by David Lee Roth, inimitable lead singer of the legendary Van Halen. He’s got a point. Only the listener’s experience matters. Not the critics, nor the industry titans who get to choose what gets distributed. The listener’s moment with a particular song is where the magic lies.
Steve’s been blessed to have had many of those moments with listeners, grateful that they didn’t listen to the critics or nay-sayers. Folk traditions are alive. Jazz gets the fingers to snappin’ and Blues gets people out on the dancefloor. Steve mixes them all together for an altogether unique experience.
